It’s the most frequent question all three of us get when we show up at a club we haven’t been to, or even at clubs we are regulars at. Why do we do this?
As it says on the “About” page, we are not paid by the club owner, we don’t have tip jars out, we just show up as a mini dance group and start dancing with the matching outfits. It’s the matching outfits that make us stand out in the crowd. Changing those outfits every 5 to 10 minutes is basically the cherry on top of that cake.
The Charlie’s Angels, if you look at us dancing, are no different from any other group of friends HUD dancing at any major club in Second Life, it’s the outfits and the outfit change that sets us apart from the normal group of friends who are out dancing. It also sets us apart from any other “professional” dance group within SL who generally tend to change in between sets or hide in a large particle cloud, we do it out in the open, on the dancefloor, and have figured out a way to do it without getting naked at all.
All three of us went down the road of having SL “jobs” with myself and Lizzy going down the road of club hosting and then managing those clubs. In my case, they were very large clubs with regular attendance upwards of 70+ people. All of us, at roughly the same time, decided to stop “working” in SL and have fun. All three of us started really hanging out together about 4 years ago. It wasn’t until about 2 years ago that we really started out as a group.

It was Fenny’s idea to have matching outfits as something to have fun with. About 2 months later I figured out a way to change those outfits while dancing in PG clubs without us getting naked, and the rest carried on from there. From the initial start of the angels Flickr, onto the 3girls website and then the Facebook page. We spend an average of 20k a month each on outfits, sometimes (especially on holiday occasions) that can double.
Why do we actually do this? Well, all three of us love music, it can be EDM to 50;s Rock n Roll and everything in between. We also love shopping, and picking out matching outfits that not only look good but all three of us like can make for long, in fact VERY long shopping trips that can last most of the day. Mostly though, it’s about having fun and making folks smile at some of the outfits we are wearing or the general chatter between the three of us in local club chat. If we are having fun, and folks around us are having fun, that is what makes it all worth it!
