It’s no secret, the three of us were regulars at Muddys Music Cafe for the better part of two years, and the past year on a permanent basis. The blog and the Flickr for the Angels are full of references to Muddy’s Music Cafe. Staff from my own job (It’s Lia typing this) at The Guardian (yes, that’s where I work) popped into muddys regularly during the UK working hours.
All three of us were happy at Muddys. Yes, the rules were strict, probably a touch too strict, but they were strict for a reason, to keep the place family-friendly. We would spend hours at Muddys, sometimes clocking in 10 to 12 hours dancing nonstop, it kept the DJ’s company, seeing our faces there regularly, and it brought in new people via the blog posts and images we popped up on our Flickr.
All that came to an abrupt end today…
Sometime during the evening of Sunday, November 20th, Bridget Hammill banned us after reading a private IM conversation that went on between myself and one of her ex-members of staff.
The convo was a simple one, Bridget Hammill had banned a friend of a host for…wait for it…dancing on the bar. Yes, you read that right. Dancing on the bar. There are no rules against dancing on the bar, no hints from the hosts that is frowned upon. I commented that it was insane to ban people from dancing on the bar, and that conversation made its way to Bridget.
What followed was an unhinged rant to the point that I think she actually has mental health issues that are starting to surface. The rant ended with Bridget saying she was going to “Inform Patch Linden” about…something, I don’t know what the unhinged “Christian” was going to inform Patch about exactly, but she’s going to inform him anyway. Bridget Hammill is also a thief. Yes, you read that right…THEIF**. The Angels were renting a shop in her Plaza, we have not received a refund for the time left in the shop, she kept the money for herself.
There have been rumors, lots of rumors, about something dark and unfriendly occurring in the background of Muddys. DJ’s who are there one week, are gone the next. Long-time hosts who get sacked for unknown reasons. Multitudes of regulars, some who tipped the club a LOT, banned. Things have been getting steadily worse in Muddys for the past 5 months.
Now, we get banned from Muddys Music Cafe, and in the midst of all of this, I have been hearing from a growing number of DJ’s that they are unhappy with some “issues” that have been cropping up in Muddys over the past 5 to 6 months and are on the verge of quitting to go work at Schooners, Big Daddys or the multitude of other places that have one thing different to them compared to muddys….
…their owner isn’t power-mad.
The Angels will find a new regular place to go to. In the meantime, however, if you are a DJ, stay away from Muddys, i have a feeling there is going to be a mass exodus of staff from that place after the new year.
On the news of hearing this, Lizzy was basically in tears. This won’t matter to Bridget though, who hides behind her Christianity whilst being a power-mad mini-dictator in her own little dominion. She will realize soon though…Muddys isn’t the only game in town anymore.
** *Update Nov 22nd: The refund of the remaining rent happened. Also, comments are locked to people I follow due to a number of fake accounts that have started commenting with comments like “Die of cancer” or “the lot of you should jump in front of an oncoming train”. All images taken at Muddys have also been removed unless its a showcase image, in which case references to muddys has been removed
*Update Nov 23rd: Got a message from TWO separate people after reading the blog, apparently they were warned to put on “PG clothing”. They were wearing nonsplit, half thigh length skirts. When asked what was wrong, they were told they had no underwear on. Only way that would have been known is if the host looked up the skirts…wow…just…wow.
*Update Nov 23rd (Part 2): Both Liza and Fenella got copy and paste messages from Bridget saying that they are not banned from Muddys and trying to entice them back to the club. In the words of Fen “She’s such a good manipulator and gaslighter, Nixon would be proud of her…”. Sorry Bridget, you ban one of us, you’ve essentially banned us all.
*Update Dec 2nd: Read the comments down below or on the blog. Former staff of Muddy’s have started speaking out about Bridget “I’m a Christian” Hammill’s ill-treatment of staff who were unwell, and general mistreatment of staff who work in other clubs. She is far from a Christian in her actions against DJ’s and hosts who helped put her club on the map.
*Update Dec 28th: It is now confirmed that Bridget “I’m a Christian, honest” Hammill is sacking staff who want to work in a competing new club, has requested staff to “report” my blog and flickr (to who is the question). It also transpires that over half her staff may have possibly quit. Bridget Hammill, the psychotic cult leader of club owners…

I loved having you ladies there. it got conversations going. .and sometimes you even matched me when i was dj’ing!
After being there 2 years myself..and Bridget, asking me to come back after I quit.. i told her if i left again, i would NEVER go back..
She contacted me about something in my profile that she didnt approve of.. even tho she repented of being involved in that sin herself’ and this is where it got dark and ugly.. ( this was back in June of 2022.
She told me that God would stop answering my prayers to not go on dialysis( i have had end stage kidney failure for 4 years) if i didnt repent and stop going to that community and changed my ways. GOD would stop answering my PRAYERS. and then she ranted on and on.. etc… But . .the GOD i know and love and have a relationship would never EVER say that .. never hold my health up over me to do something for some deranged SL clubowner to allow her to manipulate me and what i do in sl or rl.. that is not a God any christian should serve.. that is called the devil.. or a cult.
So i quit. I quit.. .. NEVER went back nor will i as a vip.. or an alt or anything. NEVER. That was cruel and played with my emotions and my heart. I had to leave my friends and the vips that came to my 4 am set every day… for a solid month i grieved. not for BRIDGET.. but just because i love to dj and share music and the bonds i had formed there.
She has done far worse to other dj’s. But to manipulate someone, using their health and the love of God to get someone to do something or not do something is EVIL.

I used to work for Muddy’s as a Host. It seemed to be a nightly occurrence that I would get told my shirt was cut too low, yet it would be the same BOM layer I wore with a different outfit 2 days prior without issue. Sorry if the shape I have worn for 14 years is well endowed lol. And God forbid you want to help out by being able to be a host AND a dj. It was one or the other with her. And I lost track of the “patrons” that would IM me saying someone’s clothes weren’t “PG” but I saw nothing wrong with what the accused had on and would ignore the IM. That would stem from another staff member getting on them to change their clothes, they became the fashion police of Muddy’s. I am now at Schooner’s Pub. And PG isn’t an issue. Our music is as it was intended and as long as you have the bits covered, it’s OK. We always welcome everyone to the family.

I used to be a former staff and I feel sorry for the people drinking the Muddys kool aid. Sooo many long time great DJ’s that made Muddys great have left this year. That alone sends a pretty clear message that somethings obviously very wrong.
I have a friend who we will call “Luma” to keep her identify safe. Luma was a regular at Muddys during my sets and went to start her own club. I worked for both Muddys and Luma’s club. A few weeks later on a disagreement broke out with Luma in which Bridget resorted to immature insulting. And Luma was banned from Muddys. She didn’t break any rules but was flat out banned for not agreeing with the owner.
When Bridget found out I was working for Luma’s club I was immediately told how much of a bad person I was for not standing up for Muddys and I was threatened with dismissal if I did not quit Luma’s club. Bridget tried her hardest to make me feel sorry for not sticking up for her self-righteous ass. So I packed up my bags and left.
Bridget Hammill then went after me and all my friends. She proceeded to try and ruin my reputation in second life. This person is a so-called “Christian”. My reputation with all my friends at Muddys was destroyed because of Bridget Hammill.
Supposedly Bridget has a few “close” friends that regularly hang out with her on a daily basis. These are the ones that support this behavior These “friends” of Bridget’s have drank the kool-aid more than anyone else and are die-hard cultists. They are just as guilty as Bridget.
This is so sad to see what happened to the angels. I remember you guys would regularly come to my sets and support me when I used to work for Muddys. Just know there is a big group of us that have been banned. I know Bridget likes to tout the numbers of her ill-fated club but just remember……….. THE BIGGER THEY ARE THE HARDER THEY FALL 😀

I used to work at Muddy’s as a DJ, always working my ass off doing long-time covers after being told 5 min before the regular DJ was back and wanted to DJ. after covering for months.
Then I sadly needed surgery, and the long recovery was not something she liked, so I got fired. took me a long time going back just to support friends from there.

The Muddys place have two most useless hostess and her partner in the entire SL. Was banned today with demand to put on my pants, but I was not nude (had trousers). No democracy there and they do not stick to their own rules. Avoid them if you don’t like dictatorship or if you don’t wear hidjab.

I’m late to this party. I wish I’d known about this blog months ago. I was banned, or “asked not to return” when I questioned a female DJ about a song she never played, even though I’d tipped her and the club! I was really hurt and accused of being unchristian. I loved going there and lost my community.

I asked Bridget why the club couldn’t play some popular tunes and she said not US Top 40 we don’t play them. The club used to play a larger variety of music but a few years ago they changed the rules. The owner said if you don’t like it you can always go to Big Daddy’s Rock Club. The club does have great DJ’s and staff but the owner is definitely unfriendly!

Wow. I was wondering what was happening at this club. Been a regular for almost as long as it’s been running and never saw so much turnaround in staff before this. I knew the owner had some sort of come to Jesus born again moment but had no idea she had taken things to this level. I’m glad I started venturing to other clubs now.

Was called out and ejected when a member of Muddy’s staff, so keen to enforce, went so far as to derender my clothes to check for underwear (yes a skirt below the knee, they would never have known what was there otherwise. I protested and the owner then proceeded to tell everyone I was a whore and an escort to justify the behaviour. It was ridiculous, defamatory and completely without foundation so I pushed back, reported and threatened to sue.
I then was approached by one of her alts claiming to be offended by my profile (yes, we all sign disclaimers when we join SL) purely on the basis of being muslim. Don’t be fooled, the owner has a number of alts out there, they aren’t all in the god squad. So I reported both, again, as this was clearly targeted harassment, along with other members of staff shocked at the allegations and they know who I really am. I am sure I am banned, the music played there is unlicensed and illegal and would lead to the whole place being closed down by linden lab in the event of report. Would I recommend it for this experience? No. Do I miss it? No.

The owner weaponises religion and also a grown adults right to be treated as an adult. Having spent some time there it is clear that they utilise control and coersion under the guise of a “PG” rating – “in case children are watching.” I think in fact that is a decision for a responsible adult to make, and without being told the owner is making that for them in case there is a child in the room, which has nothing to do with the owner of the club.
Having realised this I want nothing to do with this place – and actually resent hearing its so called “radio” which is nothing more than a cheap internet stream peddling adverts in other places. I avoid those too now – for that reason.
