The Angels Land At: Muddy’s Music Cafe

with 2 Comments

On the 20th of November the angels got banned from Muddys due to the club owner reading a private message between Lia and one of the ex-staff of the club.  With the recent sackings of staff, club regulars and now the apparent cultish like pushing of the club owner’s “Christianity” down everyones throat, we can no longer recommend Muddys as a safe club to go to.  For more information visit https://www.3girlsinsl.co.uk/when-club-owners-become-power-hungry/

Muddy’s Music Cafe

Muddy’s Music Cafe

When it comes to “General” rated clubs in Second Life who play a mix of modern top 40 pop all the way down to hits from the 70’s, who also have practically full 24/7 coverage of DJ’s and hosts and who have been on the go in SL for more than a decade and are still busy pulling in more than 60 to 70 people during peak UK and US hours, few of them can compare to Muddy’s.

The Stage…with us three dancing infront 😀

Recently celebrating its 12th year on the grid, Muddy’s has become the major go to club in SL for a taste of modern top 40 pop with many of the DJ’s dipping into the 70’s to 90’s collections most of them have.  It’s also one of those clubs which (unlike a lot of them) have full host coverage with the DJ.  It’s also a strict PG rated club, which means all bits have to be covered and no adult rated stuff at all happens in the club…and when i say PG rated, i mean it, think “What would you do a Disney World?” when you go to Muddys…yeah, its that PG.

The main dance floor

I (this is Lizzy typing this) first heard about Muddy’s about 2 months after i made my account when i was generally hanging out at the dance clubs of the time (Ambrosia was my main haunt back then). When i got into hosting at other clubs, the name of muddy’s kept cropping up with general staff chatter when they were comparing the different “General Pop” clubs around the grid.  It became clear very quick that Muddy’s at the time, and even now, is the club that’s one of the major standard bearers when it comes to a safe club to go to just to dance and have a chatter.

Upper Balcony

The Back Terrace

Muddy’s itself has a sort of irish based theme going on with the look of the inside of the building.  An old school “Brown Brick” barn style building with a balcony at the back, a bar at the back, stage at the front and the entrance to the back terrace at the rear of the building.

Muddy’s uses the T.I.S system, cause lets face it, there’s not a lot of other choices out there when it comes to dance systems for clubs of this size.  A good selection of couples dances are in the system along with a HUGE selection of singles dances for the guys or the ladies who pop in.

There is also general seating infront of the bar and smaller seats along the side walls in case you are Lia’s cousin (Hi Vic!) and you are too lazy to dance.

The wall behind the DJ and Host has all of the major businesses that the club owner (Bridget Hammill) has placed links to back there for playing Muddy’s on their sim or event.  The other side of the same wall has various anniversary shirts and normal shirts with the Muddy’s logo on the front.

The Shopping Area

The opposite side of the region from the club there are very large walk in stores which range from sim design to jewelry to clothing.

Bible Fellowship

Off to the side of the region there is a Bible Fellowship meeting place as well that has regular meetings every Sunday.

The Region In Full

All three of us, myself, Liandra and Fenella started all coming to Muddys in the UK morning time about a year ago when we were looking for a different place to hang out away from the stuffy formal theme of Franks Jazz (The William Batson copy of Franks, not the original).  When we got ultimately banned from Franks due to us not agreeing with the cash grab road the place was going down, we all decided to make Muddy’s Music Cafe the new “Home Club” of The Charlie’s Angels, and it’s been a decision we have not regretted at all.  In fact, all three of us are kind of glad we did get banned from Franks since moving full time into dancing at Muddys.

Yes, Muddy’s is far stricter with the clothing rules than some other club’s out there, but ultimately that is a good thing as far too many clubs that are general pop end up descending into borderline adult clubs when the clothing rules of the club are lax to the point that escorts are popping in for a break without changing out of their “work” attire.

If you are looking for a friendly place just to hang out and chat with other folks in SL, pop over to Muddy’s!  Odd’s are you will see us three infront of the stage dancing away…unless we are shopping of course.

Dear Liza, Liandra and Fenella, the time you took to write this review with pictures is very professionally done just like you three ladies always present yourselves. I’m sure many fellow staff members would echo the same when I say it’s an honor to have you come so often to make Muddy’s Music Cafe what it is after all its the friends like you that make it the place to be. See you there soon. 🙂
